It was built by Heinouchi Yoshimasa and his son Masanobu, from Negoro of Kishu (present-day Wakayama). Masanobu was the best carpenter who later became the master builder of the public works for the Tokugawa Shogunate. The tower gate is one of the largest with a structure which there is only one space between the pillars.
